THE PLACES

Newgrange & Knowth

One of the most fascinating of Ireland, this vast Neolithic necropolis known as Brú na Bóinne (Palace of Boyne) is also one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in Europe. Built a thousand years before Stonehenge, is a powerful and evocative testament of the extraordinary feats performed by prehistoric men.

Tara

Tara is the most sacred bog of Ireland, a place that occupies a special place in history, in legend and folklore in Ireland. It was home of the ancient Druids and later was the ceremonial capital of the "high king" (142 total) who ruled the country until the advent of Christianity in the sixth century. The Celts believed that Tara was the sacred abode of the gods and the gateway all'oltretomba. The tomb was a hall considered to be the last home of Tuahta de Danann, the first to inhabit Ireland, remembered as creatures of Elves and semidivine.

Glendalough

Glendalough and 'a place that enchants visitors and for the famous monastic site of St. Kevin - dating from the sixth century - both for the beauty of nature. The important remains of this ancient monastery is very impressive, but the real attraction is the beautiful scenery: two mysterious dark lakes set in a deep valley covered with forests.

Doolin

Imagine the County of Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings and you have before your eyes the small but charming Doolin. It is said that here, just a stone's throw from the Cliffs of Moher, Tolkien has had the inspiration to write his famous novel. Doolin is also the best place to sample the Irish Stew with Guinness in a typical pub where live music is a must, in fact, Doolin is also the capital of Irish traditional music.

Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher, one of the most famous tourist attractions of Ireland, rise, steep and rocky to reach 203 meters in height. On clear days the view is spectacular, and the Aran Islands there are sharp on the waters of Galway Bay, and behind them rise the hills of Connemara.

Dublin

Despite being the capital of the Republic of Ireland, Dublin is a city on a human scale, detail and colorful, full of elegant Georgian buildings, a famous literary culture, home of Trinity College Library, which contains valuable treasures Literary illuminated by hand. And of course do not miss the "profane" very cozy pubs, live music, shops, and - last but not least - the Guinness Storehouse, the most modern and interesting brewery-museum in Europe.
